Maraska Cherry is an old Croatian indigenous cherry variety considered the best quality for cultivation. It is used for the preparation of liqueurs because of its strong aroma and fleshy round fruit that is medium in size compared to other varieties. The fruit is red in color which gives the liqueur an intense red color and a sweet-sour taste.
