Export is the driving mechanism of any country's development, and its contribution to development is much greater in small countries dependent on foreign markets like Croatia. There is an everlasting problem in Croatia of oversized import compared to export. Only about 15% of companies are exporting. However, these export-oriented companies employ 51% of the employees in all companies, invest 62% of total investments, generate about 66% of total sales revenues, and invest even about 73% of resources from the total invested in development. They also make a profit of 76%. The growth of such companies makes the overall Croatian economy stronger.
In recent years, Croatia has experienced an increase in exports thanks to joining the European Union, which removed customs barriers with EU member states. Our company recognized the opportunities offered by the open market, so we turned to exporting our own products to foreign markets. But besides the EU markets, we also expand the Adria brand to markets outside the European Union.
By constantly opening new markets and strengthening our share in existing export markets, we want to contribute to the internationalization of the product. Adria products are present on the markets of 11 countries around the world. Thus, our products can be found in Estonia, England, France, Japan, Sweden, Ukraine, Malta, Slovakia, Italy, Slovenia and BiH.
The presence of Adria products in the world is constantly increasing, and we recently started exporting them to Russia, Montenegro and Romania as well. By regularly exhibiting at famous worldwide international fairs in the food industry, we are working on increasing the international recognition of the brand.
We are proud, as Croatian exporters, to be one of the drivers of development and economic growth of Croatia.
